Maria
She was a beautiful little girl from Rita's 2007 litter.  Only 4.4 oz. when she was born, it was a miracle she survived.  She was such a fighter; how could we not give her a chance?

Text Box: Text Box: For five months we shared her joy
of life and silly little ear nibbles.

W laughed at the way she teased
us to play with her, then tossed
her head and ran away
when we called her to us.

We laughed a lot while she was with us.

Text Box: Peter would just get settled in a nice shady patch of grass for a nap when she'd pounce.  Putting up with her needle-sharp puppy teeth for weeks without ever growling, he was always kind and willing to play, and probably deserves to be called "Saint" Peter for his tolerance.
Text Box: 'Bye for now, Maria
Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: Maria loved to zoom around, especially if she could make her ears fly out in the wind.  Then she'd crash to a stop, pose, and look over at us as if to say, "What are you lookin' at?  The next second she'd be off again.

Maria’s Poem
Like an angel fallen from the sky,
Or a birdie from her nest,
She landed in our hearts and lives,
        A wondrous little pest.
A life well-lived, no wondering why
Her short life was for the best,
Why God would call her to his side...
For such a small time we were blessed.
